IssAndes was conceived as a project that integrates many agricultural approaches with the main driving force to find sustainable alternatives.

We learned the following lessons:

  1.  We needed to focus on agricultural and production systems to improve the consumption of food amongst vulnerable population groups.
  2. Availability of food in the home and increased revenues is predicated on the  increased productivity of potato farming families.
  3. Project partners working hand in hand will preserve the integrity of the project as different institutions with bring different experience and points of views.
  4. Policy advocacy component is key to reaching large scale interventions and improve communication amongst the different groups.
